You Get To Pick Your Themes

R. Shawn McBride recently discussed entrepreneurs get to pick their themes.

Hey folks, Shawn here with you, talking about an important thing in business. We get to pick our themes. We get to pick what’s important to us, and what messages we underly, and we have a lot of power in this business of ours.

One of the amazing things about being an entrepreneur is we get to set the tone. We are not victims. We are in control. We are leaders. We get to determine what it is, and within your business, you get to pick the themes, what you’re pushing out to the world, what people are learning from you. What are the themes that you want to embrace? What message do you want to set? How do you want people thinking of you? You get to pick that, and we get to pick that together. So think hard about this. What is your message? What are the overall things? What are the underlying themes of your business? You get to pick them, you get to choose them, and you embrace them. And by doing that, you’re changing the world, because you’re spreading your message and more and more people see it.

When I do my talk on The 3 Laws of Empowerment, I talk to people about preparing, planning, and protecting. You’d be surprised how many people I’ve changed by getting them to think about a new vision of their future. Their lives go in a whole new direction. Because it’s a theme that I embrace, embrace empowerment, I embrace doing more.

What themes are you embracing? When people keep working a message and embracing it, more and more great things happen. So I want you to stop and think, spend some time this week, talk about what themes you’re working on. Send me a note. Let me know what themes you’re working on and what your reactions are to it and how you want to do more. I would love to hear from you about that and how you are embracing more and more of those themes and doing more and more things. And the more you embrace your themes, the more you stick to them, the better things are going to happen.
