In our previous article, http://www.mcbrideforbusiness.com/blog/mcbrides-critical-tools-for-business-the-3-laws-of-empowerment-to-enhance-your-business-success/ we took a very broad look at the principles of the three laws of empowerment, which were developed from years of experience working with various different clients in a legal and business strategy context. In this article, we’re going to take a deep dive and look at the Law of Preparation.
We’re living in a very unique time. Each person alive today gets to choose what they will do with their waking hours. This level of choice has not been available forever. Many earlier generations, both in our nation’s history and the world’s history, did not have such a luxury of choice. People were often born into particular situations and particular geographic areas and those situations and geographies might determine how the person spent their life and career.
We’re in a different time. Each person can take control of their destiny and where they’re going. With planning, they can achieve the goals they want, but it starts with preparing and knowing the individual has the ability to pick their path and they can execute steps to get where they want to go.
It really is a matter of choice. Where do you want to be? How do you want to develop the skills that are critical to getting to that point? How can you make yourself better and stronger? What steps, what habits, what processes, what procedures can you take to get moving towards the direction you want to go? For many people, it’s as simple as taking a first step, setting a direction, and taking one small proactive step that moves them closer and closer to their goals, which will ultimately allow them to achieve those goals in due course. People are in more control than they give themselves credit for and it’s critical that we understand that we’re living in an age of choice. We can each choose where we’re headed and what our life will look like and empower ourselves. Take advantage of this time. Think about where you want to be. Think about how to get there and what those plans will look like, and then choose for yourself to empower yourself and prepare yourself for the eventual journey that you will take.
