Don’t Overwhelm the Non Empowered

October 12, 2017 // R. Shawn McBride // No Comments »

R. Shawn McBride recently spoke about not overwhelming people who are not empowered.

Hey folks, Shawn here with you. Talking about a cautionary tale. You know I talk a lot about empowerment. Those of you that follow me know one of my signature keynotes is called “The 3 Laws of Empowerment.” It is really about preparing, planning, and protecting. If you go to you’ll see what we’re talking about. I walk audiences through building your dreams, making plans that happen, and getting to great places. And something funny happens when you get empowered. You start seeing the ability to change things, to do things, to build your direction, to take your career, your job, and your business to places that you never thought you could before you were empowered.

One thing you need to be very careful about, you don’t want to overpower the non-empowered people. There are people out there who have not found the message of empowerment yet. They don’t understand that they’re in control of life. These peoples are typically victims. They feel like everything’s happening against them and people are teaming up against them, that people are working against them, and for these people you knowing that you’re empowered knowing that even when bad things happen to you, you can deal with it, you can rebuild, you can take it in a new direction. This changes your life perspective. There’s a lot of people who haven’t gotten this message yet. They haven’t understood this yet.

So you want to be very careful about how you’re interfacing with people who haven’t found out the method of empowerment yet. You want to interface with them differently. You’re probably going to spend most of your time with those who are empowered, but when you come in touch with these people who are not empowered, you don’t want to overwhelm them by telling them how much control they have because they won’t believe it. They’ll be shocked, so you want to be very careful. So always think about that, always gauge whether those that you’re interfacing with are on the empowered side of the world or the non-empowered side of the world.

You want to be dealing with those that are truly empowered, that when doing the great things they can do more. Those that are not empowered are always going to be feeling like victims and like you’re after them, and like the world is after them. So be very careful. Don’t over power the non-empowered. So you need to build systems and build ways of communication to make sure that you’re making them feel comfortable with their world view.
