I’ve taken the view that we all are creative, that actually every one of us has been given the ability to be creative and to think of unique things, and do things in unique and powerful ways. But most people just don’t capitalize on it, or they lose their creativity because of the actions of others. For instance, many in corporate America or that work for others, get into situations where they’re given a process or a role and they fit so well into that process or role that they lose their creative instinct. But it’s still there. We are all creative. I get sad when I hear people say that they are not creative, because I believe that person probably does have creativity in them. They may not realize who they are and what they can be.
Don’t think in terms of whether you’re creative or not. Think about how to unlock your creativity. Believe that it’s there. I’ve seen other people unlock it. I’ve unlocked it in my life. A lot of the creativity that I express now was not there, so your creativity probably does exist. Allow yourself to look for it. Search for it. Find authentic ways to be yourself, ways to express yourself, ways to do things differently than everyone else. If you keep looking for those threads and themes, you’re going to be more and more successful.
