Hey everyone, R. Shawn McBride with you here live, and I want to talk about one simple thing you could do to make decisions easier, right. We all struggle with decisions at different times, and I know certain points in my life I’ve had very hard decisions to make and I didn’t know what to do. I think a lot of us get in this situation. I talked to other people that are like, help me make this decision. How can I do this? Clients, friends, other people, everybody’s trying to make decisions and everybody wants to make good decisions. But it’s hard sometimes, right.
Let me tell you about one simple thing I’ve stumbled upon that can help you make decisions easier, that makes it not so difficult to decide what the right route is, and that’s having your ten year plan. When you know where you want to be in ten years, when you know what your goals are, it becomes much easier to make decisions today. We look at the decision, and we look at what’s most congruent with where we want to be in ten years.
So, usually when we take this very long brush, and we know where we’re at, and we know where we want to be, we can then make decisions that are most consistent with getting to where we want to go. It simplifies a lot of the decision making process. It brings so much clarity.
So usually when my clients come to me and they say, I’m battling between two choices, and I don’t know which one to take. I don’t know which offer to take. I don’t know how to conduct my company or where to take things, they’ll often say … I’ll often tell them, look at where you want to be, look at what your vision is. Not just your business, but your personal life. Blend the two together and based on that, make a decision of where you want to be. Very simple advice for you folks, but start with the ten year plan. Know where you’re going, and once you know where you’re going, you can work backwards, and then today’s decision is gonna be a lot easier.
So, that’s what I like to talk to audiences about, empowering them, helping them make choices. If you or your friends need somebody to come speak and talk about how we can empower, and how we make great decisions, do a longer version, deep-dive discussion about really making powerful decisions, doing powerful things, I’d love to help you out.
