R. Shawn McBride recently spoke about people supporting you and others criticizing you.
Hi, folks, Shawn here with you. Talking about some of the reality of when your business grows. You know when you get to a certain point, you’re going to get a lot of people supporting you. You’ll get the wind in your sails. People are going to start believing in your message and you start doing more. But the other thing you’re going to get is you’re going to get people pulling against you, you’re going to get resistance, you’re going to get people that are negative, critics, and they’re going to start pulling you down and for a couple different reasons.
Number one, maybe they don’t believe in your message, but a lot of times people just want to hold others back. They don’t want to watch great success, they want everybody to be average or normal or they’re not successful and they’re like, they don’t want to see other people be successful, so they start doing things that pull you down, to trigger you. Don’t fall for it; keep pushing forward.
The fact that you’re getting resistance tells me that you got a strong message, you’re getting with people. Critics might help you. They might give you some leverage to get some more publicity. They might also give you things that you can fine tune to make your message more understandable to more people. But don’t change your core message. Don’t change who you are because you have a critic, keep pushing forward. This is actually a great sign that you’re doing more.
