Having a Conversation with Customers: Learning from the Big Boys for Big Profits

LaBatt Brewing Company recently announced that LaBatt USA is going to put its headquarters in Buffalo, New York. What’s been interesting about the finding is that when LaBatt stated it was going to do this, the company said one of the reasons is that they wanted to have a conversation with customers. The company wanted to create a situation where LaBatt could work with the customers, learn about what the market needs and tailor its offerings.

LaBatt, USA is going to create a headquarters with a brewery that’s also going to incorporate elements of testing so additional information can be acquired about what customers enjoy, what they want to do and what the customers desire. This is a great lesson for all of us. Our businesses need to be listening to others. What’s amazing here is a large company has incorporated this philosophy of willing to learn and get information from customers into the fundamental business structure. Each of us should be doing the same. We should be figuring out how to collect information about what our customers like, what we should be doing, and how to do more.
