This concept is hard to think about in the world today because so many people are admonishing us and telling us to look after others, but you need to do things for you. We’ve talked in earlier blogs about doing things your way (http://www.mcbrideforbusiness.com/blog/how-different-are-you/). You also have to do what you want to do. You have to be uniquely yourself.
In so many of the conversations I’ve had with entrepreneurs and business people, they lose a sense of fulfillment when they try to be what other people want them to be when they try to do what they think others expect from them. It zaps your energy, it wears you down, and it weakens you.
When you’re doing what you want to do, when you’re embracing yourself, when you’re following your mission and helping those that are aligned with your mission, you’re going to do more. You’re going to accomplish things, and you’re going to feel fulfilled which is going to create a cycle of improvement and enhancement. Are you doing what you want to do? Are you following the path and the journey which is unique and authentic to you, or are you busy trying to please others?
Think about it.
What’s been your journey? Have you tried to please others only for it to lead to disappointment? What are you doing to do more in your life and your career and your business? Join us in the comments below and let us know.
