Best-selling author and international speaker John Assaraf has me thinking about seeds.
I recently attended a conference where John – you may know him as one of the featured experts in the self-help documentary “The Secret” – made an interesting point in his speech. He said if you want to change the outcome, you need to change the seed.
And it makes a lot of sense.
If we keep doing the same things over and over – planting the same seeds over and over – we’re going to get the same outcome. If we want to end up in a different place, we want to plant a different seed to lay the foundation for a different outcome.
When I talk about The 3 Laws of Empowerment and helping people, business owners, or employees achieve their dreams, the discussion must be about where you want to go, what are the outcomes and what do you want?
It’s all about preparation. Knowing where you want to go will drive you to achieve your dreams and to accomplish what you want. How? John gave us a very interesting way of thinking about it: Change the seed. Change what you want. For so many people, one of the keys is just knowing what you want. Know what you want to accomplish and have a detailed plan to do it.
I’ve talked in previous blogs about how having that vision — having that dream — can be so vital to choosing your direction and knowing where to focus your time and energy (). So, what are you going to do differently? How are you going to change your seed so that you end up with a different outcome from what you have today?
