Assurance You Can Do More

September 26, 2017 // R. Shawn McBride // No Comments »

R. Shawn McBride recently spoke about the assurance that things are going to work out.

Hi, folks, Shawn here with you talking about how do we know something we’re doing is really going to work? What assurance can you get that, something is going to come to fruition for those efforts that you’re doing – the planning. Everything I do touches on planning in some way, shape, or form, so how do we know that those plans are really going to happen? And sometimes the most assurance you can get is that others have done similar things before.

Many of us are doing innovative things, we’re doing things that haven’t necessarily been done exactly the way we have before. But, there’s precedent out there, there are other people that have built their companies. They’ve done the great things, they’ve achieved success. And when we look at those people and what they’ve done, we can take lessons and then do it in our unique way. And what we see is that often with persistence, hard work, and following certain universal lessons, we can achieve success. So, that’s really your guarantee that you’re going to get there. Or your knowledge that you might be able to achieve what you want to achieve, knowing that others have done it along the way gives you a lot of inspiration to know that it’s possible for you.

We’ve watched a lot of people build themselves from small companies to big successes, from being unknown to be very well-known. We see this in the acting industry, we see this with business leaders, and we see this with politician. You build it over time. And sometimes the best assurance you can have that you, too, can be successful is knowing that others can do it. And I hope this is inspiring you to think bigger, to do more, to be what you want to be because it’s inherently possible. You can grow into new levels – it just takes time, effort, and persistence. And knowing that others have done it before gives us a great roadmap to know that it’s possible, and how to do it.
